Timber, Love & Stones

by Cars on Rooftops

/

about

An ode to the durability of true love, in this age of fast paced everything, it celebrates overcoming the challenges that we face in order to make true love not only possible, but real. Not only happen, but last.

Composed and written by Cars’ frontman Bar Zalel, Timber, Love & Stones was inspired by the story of Eva Scholten, Cars’ vocalist and keyboard player. Funny enough, at the time, Eva was not yet a part of the band. Her unique love story, the inspiration for this song, is still going strong.

lyrics

Out of ten
only seven will make it
And of those lucky few
only five will make it through
Out of five
only three really want it
One got lost on the way
So you got me and I got you

All the money's gone
but we still got our home
Built with our own hands
on timber, love and stones

All the money's gone
but still got our home
Built with our own hands
of timber, love and stones

Out of touch
only memories can save us
We maybe out of luck
but we cannot afford to doubt it
Only two
could arrive where we are
If the others are lost
There's nothing we could do about it

All the money's gone…
